Game Programmer

Programmer
A Programmer is a midlevel engineer with a strong understanding of computer science and some experience developing
software. A Programmer uses this knowledge to build new game systems and modify existing code. A Programmer may serve as
Lead Programmer on a project-by-project basis.

Description
Implementation of software in C++ and other languages.
Debugging and optimization of software.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Design software systems through consultation and coordination with other programmers. Write design documentation.
Follow group standards and best practices.
Assist and mentor other programmers in areas of domain expertise or specialization.
Interest in expanding knowledge of different game technologies and systems.
Ability to define and estimate time for personal tasks as well as generate and track a schedule for those tasks.
Receive tasks and some technical direction from the lead programmer. Gather requirements, design, write, and maintain
software. Seek advice of other programmers proactively.
Collaborate with artists and designers on the requirements and design of tools and systems.


Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years experience in game industry.
Strong aptitude in math and knowledge of computer graphics techniques.
Strong C++ skills.
Desire to mentor and assist other programmers.
A passion for developing for high quality games.
