We are looking for a strong, versatile programmer-writer to work on networking technologies for Windows Mobile and Windows CE. The small but extremely dynamic MED CPUB writing team offers exciting challenges and unparalleled opportunities to learn and document the latest technologies in the embedded and mobile platforms.

This person will work closely with editors and other writers as well as developers, program managers, testers, and developer support. The candidate must have experience writing for a developer audience, ideally SDK writing experience, and real-world C++ and C# programming experience. Candidate should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and XML, and should be familiar with the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications.
The assigned writer for this position will be responsible for documenting networking protocols. The ideal candidate would have an understanding of networking principles and architecture and in-depth knowledge of multiple communication protocols.
This is a half time job share position.
Required qualifications
Excellent writing, communication, planning, and organizational skills
Two years experience writing developer documentation
Proven ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines
Aptitude for learning new tools and technologies quickly
The ability to identify documentation gaps and proactively scope, schedule, and create content that addresses the situation
Desire to participate in an ongoing dialog with the developer community
B.A. or B.S. in English, Communications, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
Preferred qualifications
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Cisco Certified Networking Professional.
Familiarity with developing Windows CE and/or Mobile (Smartphone and Pocket PC) applications.
Familiarity with the build and production processes used to create online Help.
Experience using DocStudio in a single-sourcing model.
Experience managing CSG programmer writers.
