Description:This position is an enabler to utilize accounting knowledge and analytical ability while learning specifics about the company and the healthcare industry. Subsequent opportunities include, but are not limited to, various areas of Corporate Finance such as Planning and Analysis, Revenue Management, Business Unit Finance, as well as opportunities in other functional areas. Revenue Control has full ownership and responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the Company?s revenue recognition which approximates $7.0 Billion.Job Specific Responsibilities: 1. Lead the Company?s Centralized Revenue Control function with direct ownership and accountability for the accuracy and integrity of the reported revenue and accounts receivable reserves for the centralized sites within the Clinical Testing Line of Business. Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable Reserve maintenance is one of the Company?s ?significant accounting policies? as defined in the Company?s SEC filings, as it involves a high degree of judgment. This position ensures that the Company?s processes result in appropriate judgments, reached on a consistent basis to ensure the integrity of the reported financial statements. (Approx $3.0Billion Revenue and $0.8Billion Reserves in 2008). 2. Create proposal and potentially implement and drive the centralization of the remainder of the Company?s Clinical Testing revenue recognition. (Approx $3.0Billion Revenue and $0.8Billion Reserves in 2008). 3. Integrate acquired companies onto standard policies and procedures. Perform due diligence procedures, as needed. 4. Ensure appropriate revenue recognition during system conversions. Analyze leading indicators for early identification of issues that could lead to business risk. Follow through to ensure issues are remedied. 5. Develop a process for, and maintain ?Central Awareness and Control? for all other Company Revenues and Receivable Reserves from the remaining lines of business, including Risk Assessment, Employer Solutions, Clinical Trials, Products, Healthcare IT, and International. As the Company pushes into non-clinical lines of business, and expands internationally (ex: India), it is imperative that this leader develop process and controls for appropriate oversight and central corporate awareness to ensure the integrity of the revenues and reserves managed locally at those lines of business. (Approx $1.0Billion Revenue in 2008). 6. Ensure the establishment of appropriate revenue recognition and accounts receivable reserve policies for all lines of business which are in conformity with GAAP. Ensure adherence to the policies throughout the Company. Provide revenue recognition technical accounting guidance. 7. Serve as an effective Business Partner to the Regional Directors of Revenue Services. Collaboratively drive initiatives and recommend solutions targeted at cash maximization and reduction of bad debt expense. Serve as liaison between the Revenue Services and Finance functions. 8. Lead the Company?s Management Reporting to Senior Management (CFO, VP Controller) through the design, continuous enhancements and production of an effective monthly ?Accounts Receivable and Billing Report?. 9. Serve as both customer and supplier to other critical areas such as Planning and Analysis and Revenue Management. 10. Ensure an appropriate accounting control environment that produces ?no surprises?, tightly manages the internal control environment, meets the requirements of the Company?s Internal Control Assessment supporting requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, ensure ?clean? internal and external audit reviews, adherence to accounting policies and authorization practices, and overall integrity of the financial statements. 11. Consistently hire, manage and develop top talent to build a high performing function, drive employee satisfaction, training, and development. Build appropriate bench strength. 12. Drive efficiencies in the revenue control processes by employing the principles of six-sigma and drive continuous process improvement to deliver the highest quality. 13. Manage PWC relationship in support of quarterly reviews and annual audits, in terms of the flow of information and documentation from the Company supporting revenue recognition and the Company?s accounts receivable reserve position. 14.
