RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, programming and unit testing of software enhancements and projects, as well as production support for existing applications and processes. Candidate will also be responsible for performing research on level-2 and -3 production issues as they arise. The candidate will be required to work with the user community to clarify requirements, validate test results and respond to requests for support. Documentation of all development will be required, with turnover of processes to our production support team.

Provide technology development and support for the Back Office team. Candidate should have experience working with real-time and batch transaction processing systems and knowledge of equities and equity derivatives in a broker-dealer environment. Candidate should have experience with the full project development life cycle & object oriented concepts within /Unix/Oracle/Perl/KSH/Java/JSP/ environments.

We are looking for very dynamic candidates, with strong analytical and technical skills and business knowledge, who are ready to take challenges, work under pressure, provide sound solutions and take the lead on technical and business projects.

Specific applications development and support responsibilities will apply to our Back Office Data Warehouse platform and its different downstream interfaces.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required (Must have, Core skills):
? Unix OS
? Oracle Server ? PL/SQL
? Oracle Data Warehousing Concepts ? Database modeling
? Heavy PERL and Unix KSH scripting
? XML
? Java, JSP

Desired (Should have experience in some of the following):
? ETL ? Informatica
? Crystal Reports
? SWIFT Messaging
? MS Excel VBA
? NT/XP/MS Office Suite

Plus (Nice to have):
? C# .Net Web Forms
? MS SQL/Sybase
? J2EE, HTTP, JavaScript
? Middleware (TIBCO, MQ, Tuxedo)


BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
Required/Must have:
? US Broker-Dealer environment (clearing & settlement, compliance, etc?)
? Equity Trading
? Knowledge of trading and brokerage operations ? front to back

Desired/Plus:
? Other Equity Derivatives experience


COMPETENCIES
Required/Must have:
? Clear written and verbal communication skills, appropriate to a given audience, (technical, functional, business, etc.)
? Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities
? Excellent problem solving skills
? Must be able to interact with a variety of teams ? support, infrastructure, development, business.
? Must be able to provide accurate estimation of work effort, and effective status to management as well as clients.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required/Must have:
? Equities front/back office applications experience in the brokerage industry
? Production support experience
? Experience providing documentation to both technical and client audiences
? Approximately 5-10 years of relevant work experience

Desired/Plus:
? Full project life cycle experience
? Derivatives systems experience


EDUCATION
Required/Must have:
? BS or Masters in Computer Science/Finance or related field
