Senior UNIX Systems Engineer to be responsible for the management and implementation of high-performance, highly-available, highly-secure systems supporting an advanced Digital Media Environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in UNIX systems and their variants, and a willingness to learn diverse and cutting-edge solutions to support the companies? services. This candidate will head an engineering group, and must be able to work both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. They should show strong initiative and should be comfortable with light management duties as well as investigating tactical solutions to technical needs.


Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, deployment, and management of systems in a heterogeneous large-scale systems environment.

- Monitor the performance, security, and health of systems, storage, and networks.
- Identify operational issues and take the initiative to research and implement solutions.
- Assist with vendor management and the evaluation of solutions.
- Interact with business and technical clients as part of integration and support efforts.

- Grow skill set to assist in more complex operational and system development tasks.


Required Skills & Capabilities:
- Expertise in Solaris (SPARC & x86) and Linux (RHE) in enterprise environments. Experience with Windows Server is a strong plus.

- Experience in the operational aspects of large enterprise environments
- Expertise with SAN, NAS, tape libraries, systems architecture, HA, monitoring, and IP networking.
- A strong foundation in systems security and best-practices

- Expertise and/or experince in networking concepts and technologies.
- Expertise and/or experience with supporting Java Enterprise Application environments (J2EE, JBoss, Sun Java Enterprise, WebSphere, etc.). Oracle database implementation and administration is a strong plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

- Experience in capital planning and budget management
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
- A desire to work with cutting-edge technologies in a new company with a top-notch team.

- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technologies
